Changelog
What changed
What is new in each Packet Studio release.
v0.3.0: Renamed to Packet Studio
- The product is now Packet Studio: the library, the engine, the presenter screen and the standalone app share one name.
- The standalone app is Packet Studio Desktop and the presenter screen is Packet Studio Deck.
v0.2.6
- Intro detection now works in the desktop app, so imported songs get an intro marker as well as cue in, segue and cue out.
- To add intros to songs imported earlier, re-analyse them.
v0.2.5
- Markers are found automatically on import: cue in, cue out, fade or cold segue, tempo and a beat grid. It works without any extra software.
- Re-analysis never overwrites a marker you have reviewed or corrected.
- The marker editor and previews now start playing exactly at the cursor.
- A new About and licences page lists every third-party component and its licence.
v0.2.4
- Full screen on Windows with F11 (View, Full Screen). Esc stays Stop all.
v0.2.3
- Studio desks are now recognised on Windows under their generic USB name, so pad lights, desk levels and mute and PFL sync work there too.
v0.2.2
- MIC LIVE box: red when a mic fader is up and its channel is not muted. Packet Studio never changes a mic channel.
- A desk levels strip next to the QuickCarts shows faders, headphone levels and the monitor and main knobs.
- A Fade row for pads in the control settings.
v0.2.1
- Desk integration in both directions: fader start, pads with colours that follow the station, and PFL and mute kept in sync.
- The Play pad warns you before a song's segue: slowly, then faster, then very fast.
- Only plays that were really heard count as played; anything in headphones only, muted or previewed is left out of as-played reports.
- One-press learn for players and pads, and a redesigned controls page.
- Start-up options for auto-load, SEQ and fader start.
- Sound cards plugged in while running are picked up, and there is a rescan button.
v0.2.0
- Button walls: per-show 6 by 4 walls with folders, media folders, colours and images, assignable to a clock.
- Items keep the colour of where they came from: a wall tile, a cart or a log line.
- QuickCarts: eight carts in the right-hand column, in three layouts.
- A Library tab with music and production lists and previews.
- MIDI control with learn mode.
- Separate outputs for previews and the cut editor.
- Settings have a single Save for every tab.
v0.1.1
- A Settings screen for audio, media, connection and general options.
- Choose a media folder and rescan it; missing files are retired, never deleted.
- SEQ is decided at the segue point.
- END plays the last 10 seconds of a cued item, then re-cues it.
v0.1.0
The first build.
- Central library with automatic markers, waveforms and rights information.
- Chained players with SEQ, auto-load, eject and held, per-player queues and carts.
- Presenter screen with players, a plan and as-played log, and editors for markers and schedules.
- Scheduling with categories, clocks, a week grid and rules.
- Automation that runs unattended, a GO LIVE handover, and now-playing outputs for streams, DAB and RDS.
- Several sound cards with drift correction.
- Packet Studio Desktop for macOS and Windows.
