PrivacyPrivacy notice
Last updated: 9 October 2026.
Who we are
Packet Nomad ("we") runs this website and Packet Studio. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected]. [Draft: add registered business name, address, and ICO registration number if required.]
What we collect when you sign up for the beta
- Your email address and name (required).
- Optional details you choose to give: station or organisation, your role, country, your studio desk, your computer type (macOS or Windows), and a free-text message.
- A record that you consented and when.
- Technical data to protect the form: a salted hash of your IP address (we do not store the address itself) and your browser's user-agent string.
The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a challenge in your browser and may process technical information about it. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details to decide who to invite to the private beta, to contact you about it, and to understand which studios and desks to support. Our lawful basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). The IP hash and user-agent are kept under our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) in preventing spam and abuse.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
Who else sees it
Our hosting and database provider, Cloudflare, processes the data on our behalf (Cloudflare Pages, D1 and Turnstile). Data may be processed outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. [Draft: confirm transfer mechanism and add any email service provider once chosen.]
How long we keep it
We keep beta sign-ups until the beta ends, or for 12 months after you sign up if you are not invited, whichever is sooner, unless you ask us to delete them earlier. Rate-limiting records are deleted within a day. [Draft: retention periods to be confirmed.]
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to give you a copy. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; this does not affect what we did before. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Cloudflare Turnstile may use its own storage for the challenge.
Changes
We will update this page if we change how we handle your data, and say so at the top.
